beaches
The beaches in Broadstairs are some of the best in the UK and one of the main attractions that bring visitors to the area all year round.
viking bay
Broadstairs’ most popular and busiest beach. It has excellent facilities such as deckchair and windbreak hire, trampolines, WCs, and a lift for step-free access. Viking Bay is also handily surrounded by restaurants and take-aways… just beware the greedy seagulls. Also home to Kent Surf School and the famous New Year’s Day dip.
stone bay
Merely minutes away from seasalt, Stone Bay is a quiet haven compared to bustling Viking and Joss bays. Lifeguards, WCs, a small cafe at the north end of the beach, and some great rock pools in low tide, make this the perfect spot to spend the day. And of course you can pop back to seasalt for anything you’ve forgotten!
Stone Bay was awarded the prestigious Blue Flag award for 2021.
joss bay
Named after local 18th century smuggler Joss Snelling, this beach is Kent’s best known surfing beach and home to the Joss Bay surf school. It has everything you need for a day by the seaside - car parking, lifeguards, WCs, deckchair hire and beach cafe. It does get busy over the summer.
kingsgate bay
A sheltered and secluded sandy cove among chalk cliffs. The famous arch in the cliffs is accessible in low tide, and the secluded shoreline is great for paddling. Facilities are more limited than neighbouring beaches, with no lifeguard on duty and limited car parking.
