For such a small town, Broadstairs certainly packs a punch when it comes to activities. Almost all of the entries below are within Broadstairs itself, so even though seasalt is a great base for exploring the Kent coast, you can have a great holiday without travelling far.

Broadstairs has its very own independent cinema just around the corner from seasalt. You can find the listings for the Palace Cinema here or look on their display board on Harbour Street.
The nearest multiscreen cinema is the Thanet Vue and can be found at Westwood Cross.

surfing
Broadstairs hosts two surf schools. Kent Surf School is located at Viking Bay and offers lessons in surfing bodyboarding and SUP (stand up paddle boarding). They also offer equipment hire for these activities as well as kayaking and wetsuit rental.
Joss Bay Surf School, as the name suggests is located just north of seasalt at Joss Bay. They offer surf and SUP lessons throughout the warmer months as well as hire of surfboards, SUP boards, bodyboards and wetsuits.

leisure centre
The nearest leisure centre to seasalt is Ramsgate Leisure Centre. Non members are able to book for swimming, toning classes, gym usage, sports hall (football, badminton, roller skating, table tennis, trampolining) and use of the thermal spa. The same company also runs facilities in Margate and around Thanet.

mini golf
Broadstairs has its own mini golf course, Lillyputt, located on Victoria Parade overlooking the sea. Opening is weather dependent, it is closed TUES and WEDS.
You will also find Strokes Adventure Golf in Margate and Rascal Bay in Manston.

amusement arcade
The amusement arcade in Broadstairs is hard to miss, it has entrances on Harbour Street and Eldon Passage, just a stones throw from seasalt. The arcade also has a sister venue on the seafront in Margate.

Both Viking Bay and Margate Main Sands have outdoor tidal swimming pools available to use throughout the year. For indoor swimming see the Leisure Centre section on this page.

soft play
Under 1 Roof, on Pysons Road, describes itself as a kid’s urban oasis and its no exaggeration. They house a soft play centre, laser arena, go-karting track, hairdressers, and Dinky Town role play village.

skatepark
There is an outdoor skatepark a short walk from seasalt, at the Memorial Recreation Ground on Lawn Road near the station.
Revolution Skate Park is home to both the skating and indoor climbing facilities in Broadstairs. They offer private and group skating and scooting lessons throughout the year. They also run week-long skate and scoot camps for over 7s in the school holidays.

There are a few children’s outdoor playgrounds in Broadstairs. They can be found at Pierremont Park and the Memorial Recreation Ground. There is also a playground on Nunnery Close near the Yarrow Hotel and one outside the Captain Digby pub on Kingsgate Bay.

climbing wall
As mentioned earlier, Revolution Skate Park is home to Broadstairs’ indoor climbing facilities. They have multiple climbing and overhang sections, with the tallest wall measuring just over 9m.
There is also a newly opened Clip ‘n Climb at Westwood Cross.

Broadstairs is home to two escape rooms, and there are many more in the Thanet area. The Escapement is situated adjacent to the Albion Street Car Park, just around the corner from seasalt. The Bank Job is colocated with the Counting House Bar, also extremely close to our holiday rental.
